Title: What happened to Jamarcus Russell

Can you believe that the 2007 number 1 draft pick Jamarcus Russell is no longer playing in the NFL? His career lasted only 3 years until the Oakland Raiders released him. So where is he now?
If you don’t know how Jamarcus Russell is let me explain. He was the first overall pick in the 2007 NFL talks of being one of the best things to come out of college in years. Jamarcus Russell’s arm strength was something everyone talked about after a video of him throwing a ball 60 yards on his knees was released. If you know who he is two things come to mind. Jamarcus Russell draft, and Jamarcus Russell bust, probably because they go hand in hand. He was drafted 1st overall, and turned out to be arguably the biggest bust ever. To make things worse when he was drafted he demanded a max contract and refused to show up to training camp until he got it. He received a massive 6 year $61 million dollar contract with $32 million of that money guaranteed. The Jamarcus Russell contract became what everyone used against him. All that money and your career ends after 3 years, and his numbers were not pretty at all during his 3 seasons. Jamarcus is currently trying to make a comeback to the NFL training with former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia. Its going to be an upward climb for Jamarcus considering he currently weights 310 pounds and is going to need to drop around 40 pounds to even be considered by teams. Its crazy to think how one minute you’re the hottest thing and on top of the world and the next minute you’re a distant memory.

Do you think Jamarcus Russell will play in the NFL again?
